Hi, I’m Maddy!

I’m a speech pathologist, voice therapist and singer with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from The University of Sydney and a Master of Music Studies (Voice) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

I’m a lifelong singer with a deep fascination for the human voice. I started Voiced. Health because I’m passionate about helping people with voice or breathing difficulties get back to living with ease and doing what they love.

I have lived experience as a performer, and I have experience both teaching and performing jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, classical and choral genres. Some musical highlights of mine include performing solo at The Melbourne International Jazz Festival opening ceremony, and travelling the world to compete in choral competitions from Europe to the USA.

Since becoming a speech pathologist in 2016, I’ve worked in private practice with people of all ages experiencing voice disorders, upper airway disorders, and breathing pattern disorders. I’ve had the privilege of being mentored by some of Australia’s leading voice specialists and now bring an integrated, evidence-based approach to therapy tailored to your unique needs.

I understand just how much your voice matters, not only for your work, but for your identity and wellbeing.

I work extensively with professional and touring performers, amateur singers, and other professional voice users such as teachers and presenters. I also work with everyday voice users and speakers whose voice or breathing difficulties are impacting their ability to connect and communicate in their daily lives.I have worked in multidisciplinary teams conducting voice assessments using laryngoscopy and stroboscopy alongside respected ENT specialists and colleagues. I also have experience working within aged-care settings, supporting individuals and families with swallowing and communication needs.

I take a warm, person-centred approach to my work. I see the whole person behind the voice and believe that therapy should fit your values, lifestyle and goals.

When I’m not immersed in voice care, I love being a mum to my two young children, spreading time on my own musical projects, or grabbing a coffee at a cafe in the inner west.

If you’re experiencing voice difficulties or simply want to better understand your voice, I’d love to support you on that journey.
